Grandstand Renovation
In 2013, Polson Fairgrounds Inc. applied for and received an $80,000 grant from the MT Office of Tourism, Tourism Infrastructure Investment Program – TIIP Grant. In order to apply for this grant, PFI had to have 1/3 of the total money required to pay for the project being applied for. Through many previous fundraisers, PFI had managed to sock away $40,000, so we applied for the grant, and were awarded our asking amount! With this money, we were able to renovate the aging grandstand, which had been erected approximately 1940, and was in serious need of major repair. The project was finally finished in the spring of 2014 and we now have safe and handicap accessible seating for the many events held at this wonderful facility! THANK YOU to the MT Office of Tourism for your important contribution to our communities needs! And thanks to the local contractors and businesses who were involved in and contributed to this huge project: Graham Excavating Inc., TS Construction, Whealon Construction, D&D Customs & Coatings, Treasure State Construction, Montana Rock Products, Farrier Fence, Mercer Welding, Western Building Center/Woody’s!
Mission Mountain Rodeo Receives Top NRA Awards
The Mission Mountain NRA Rodeo received the 2015 Platinum Rodeo of the Year Award and also was voted the Best Ground Award by Contestants and Board Members. In 2016 this Rodeo again received the Best Ground Award. These awards were presented at the NRA Finals held in Butte, MT in October.
